Pastor Eddie G. Carter has been married for 38 years to Ruthie Rogers Carter and they have two children, Kenya and Cedric (Stephanie), and two grandchildren Evan and Gavin.

He graduated from Wabbaseka High School where he lettered in Football and Basketball.

He graduated from the Arkansas Baptist College with a degree in Theology. In 1995, he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Morris Booker College. He continued his study at Central Christian University in Blytheville, Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Pastor Carter was called into the ministry at age 31. He served as pastor of the Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Noble Lake, Arkansas for 7 years. For five years he was pastor of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and then on to the True Harvest Missionary Baptist Church of Dumas, Arkansas for seven years. In June of 2004 Pastor Carter relocated to Dallas, Texas where he joined the rest of his family as members of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church at Fort Worth under the leadership of Dr. William T. Glynn, were he served 3 years as an associate minister. In March 2008 Pastor Carter was called to Pastor the New Independent Missionary Baptist Church. As of September 2011, Pastor Carter started the New Faith Church.

In May of 2002, Pastor Carter became a Charter Member of E.K. Bailey Expository Preaching Institute at Dallas, Texas. He has served as Director of Evangelism for the Regular Arkansas Baptist state Convention. In 2009 Pastor Carter was appointed Co-Chairman/ Secretary for the Evangelical Board to the Union Baptist Fellowship, Inc. a Houston based ministry under the leadership of Dr. Ronald L. Smith President. In 2010, Pastor Carter was chosen as Vice President of Fellowship Missionary Baptist District Association Congress of Christian Workers under the leadership of Dr. Anthony E. Sharp I.  Pastor Carter is a member of the Baptist Minister’s Union of Dallas and nearby vicinity, where he preaches / lecture on doctorial messages each week. 

He serves as Grand Chaplin of Bowman Lodge #309.
